The Hybrid Lab: Stomping Ground LA

The Hybrid Lab: Conversations in Merging Dance Cultures at Stomping Ground LA June 2023

This version of The Hybrid Lab merged a few format ideas from previous iterations. Self produced at Stomping Ground LA, Amy invited LA based artists, all who had participated in previous versions of the lab, to share choreographic and improvisation ideas. Audience entered the space to music playing, The Electric Slide, and casual conversation. Amy O welcomed the audience with some context about the lab, some questions to consider in viewing the work, and an invitation to cypher with the artists at the end. Each artist shares their work one of after the other until a cypher naturally forms, the circle transforms, and the energy builds. Folks were then invited to stay and chat with the artists in a party hang environment.
